Being on the cross-country team for all four years of high school, I often ran Lookout Trail. We would start from Saratoga High School, run through forested grounds of an old villa, now an arts center, called Villa Montalvo up to a rewarding view of Saratoga and its neighboring cities at the top, and then loop back to school. On Memorial Day, my best friends (missing Jamie) and our moms decided to hike up Lookout Trail, starting from and ending at Villa Montalvo. We began our hike around noon, took our time to chat while getting some fitness in, and ended the loop around 1:30pm. While this hike was not physically challenging like Mission Peak in Fremont (read my post, Conquering Mission Peak), I enjoyed the shaded forest trail and the view of my hometown up at the peak.
