East Bay Eats: Tadamasa Ramen

Tadamasa Ramen: 34672 Alvarado-Niles Rd, Union City, CA 94587

I always enjoy grabbing a meal, catching up, and just spending time with Anita and Scott who were the first people I knew at Pillar! Since then, they have been trustworthy, patient, and caring close friends, and I am blessed to have them consistently in my life. Yesterday, Anita was craving ramen, the perfect soupy meal for these cold winter rainy days, and she wanted to try Tadamasa Ramen in Union City. The restaurant is small with about 10 tables and a kitchen bar. After waiting about 20 minutes, we were seated at the bar where we got to see the behind-the-scenes making of ramen with the broth in big pots, chashu all ready to go, and small pans to prepare the other dishes. The Tadamasa’s Garlic Edamame and Tadamasa Wings were both good appetizers, but the wings with light breading were particularly yummy. I really enjoyed my Black Garlic Oil Tonkotsu ramen. The broth was tasty and stayed hot almost the whole meal, the thinly sliced chashu nearly melted in my mouth with some fatty goodness, and half a soft-boiled egg was nice without having to pay for it as an extra topping. Yay to finding a ramen spot close enough to church that beats Ajisen Ramen and Bodo Lucky Japanese Restaurant in Fremont.
